The OET is an English language test designed for healthcare professionals who wish to practice in English-speaking environments. It assesses the level of proficiency of healthcare professionals. All four language skills are assessed, with Writing and Speaking tests available in 12 different areas of healthcare. Reading and Listening tests are the same for all candidates.

For registration in 12 healthcare professions, OET is accepted as proof of English proficiency in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Dubai, Namibia, and Singapore.
